About Me

Hello. I am Casey Walker. In one sentence: I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with two degrees in mechanical engineering, I have a deep interest in software engineering, I love playing sports, and I'm on an endless quest to make something (careful asking me what because it changes all the time).

I enjoy bouldering, slacklining, and staying active through various sports (whatever I can get someone else to play with me). I've been learning Japanese for about a year now. (Progress is slow, but progress is progress!) I enjoy programming, and frequently catch myself wandering down random rabbit holes...

My favorite programming language is currently Rust, but someday I want to give Zig a real try. And if you haven't heard of Typst, I would highly recommend it. I've used it to make Resumania (a resume template) and my resume, Storyteller (a package to help me write stories and keep track of things), and all of my fiction projects.

Whenever I find the inspiration and time, I like to write fiction in the form of short stories, a novella I've been working on since graduating from CMU, and a novel series I've had on the backburner since I was 15. Maybe someday I'll be able able to share them.
